Our Methodology

How we source, verify, and organize clinic data in our directory.

Data Sources

Every clinic listing in our directory is built from multiple independent data sources:

  • Google Places API: Initial clinic identification, addresses, phone numbers, hours, and patient ratings.
  • Official clinic websites: Service offerings, physician rosters, and treatment details are confirmed by reviewing each clinic's website directly.
  • CDC ART Database: IVF success rates by age group, cycle counts, and medical director information are sourced from the CDC's Assisted Reproductive Technology Surveillance System.
  • State medical board registries: Used to confirm clinic legitimacy and physician credentials where available.
  • Owner-provided data: Clinics that claim their listing can update their profile directly. Owner-provided information is clearly labeled on the listing page.

How Clinics Get Listed

We identify fertility clinics through systematic searches of Google Places data, cross-referenced with CDC-registered ART clinics and state medical board records. A provider must meet the following criteria to be listed:

  • Operates as a fertility clinic, reproductive endocrinology practice, or fertility center
  • Has a verifiable physical address in the United States
  • Offers at least one recognized fertility treatment (IVF, IUI, egg freezing, etc.)
  • Can be confirmed through at least two independent sources

Clinics that cannot be confirmed as legitimate fertility providers through at least two independent sources are removed from the directory.

How Search Results Are Ordered

We believe in full transparency about how clinics appear in our directory. Search results are ordered using the following priority:

  1. Premium listings appear first. These are clinics that pay for enhanced visibility through our premium listing program. Premium status is clearly indicated with a badge.
  2. Verified (claimed) listings appear next. These clinics have claimed their profile and confirmed their information.
  3. All other listings are sorted by patient rating, highest to lowest.

Premium placement affects position in search results, but it does not affect ratings, reviews, success rate data, or any other factual information displayed on a clinic's profile. A premium clinic's data is held to the same accuracy standard as every other listing.

Ratings and Reviews

Patient ratings displayed on clinic listings are sourced from Google Places reviews. We display the aggregate rating and review count as reported by Google.

Clinics with fewer than 5 reviews display a "New Listing" badge instead of a numeric rating, because small sample sizes can be misleading.

Our site also accepts patient-submitted reviews, which are moderated before publication. See our Review Moderation Policy for details on how reviews are handled.

Success Rates

Where available, we display IVF success rates sourced from the CDC's ART Surveillance System. These rates are reported by age group (under 35, 35–37, 38–40, over 40) and represent live birth rates per intended egg retrieval.

Success rate data is clinic-reported to the CDC and published with a typical delay of 2–3 years. We display the most recent year available and note the reporting year on every clinic profile.

We do not calculate, adjust, or editorialize success rate data. The numbers shown are exactly as reported in the CDC database.

Cost Estimates

Treatment cost ranges shown on service and listing pages are national estimates based on published industry data, clinic website pricing, and professional organization surveys. These are approximate ranges intended to help patients set expectations, not quotes.

Clinics that claim their listing can provide their own pricing, which is displayed separately and labeled as owner-provided.

Data Freshness

Clinic listings display a "Last Verified" date showing when the data was last confirmed against our sources. We aim to verify all listings at least quarterly. Clinics that claim their profile can update their information at any time through our owner portal.
